About Us

Temple Beth Shalom

Founded in 1973, Temple Beth Shalom in Cape Coral is one of the oldest Reform congregations in Lee County. Building in its diverse, generational resources, the temple offers a true sense of social community together with traditional worship of Shabbat and other holidays, education for young and old, and guidance for all.

Temple Beth Shalom is a happy, busy place with various traditional Jewish holiday inspired events. Whether it’s a Purim spiel, Passover seder, High Holy Day services or Chanukah celebration for young and old, there is never a dull moment at Temple Beth Shalom.

Temple Beth Shalom is a unique congregation… a family bound together by our beloved Rabbi, our extremely dedicated Board of Directors, and a welcoming congregation. Of course the most important day of our week begins Friday evening when we celebrate Shabbat. We pray together and read Torah… we rejoice in our Rabbi, our choir and our organist… we share our news, good and bad during “naches”… and then we enjoy our “oneg” together.

Come and see for yourself. Join us for Shabbat services every Friday night at 7:30pm. Or celebrate a special Family Shabbat the first Friday of each month at 7:30 pm. Our goal is to have you join us as a guest, leave as a friend, and return as part of our family. Once you have participated in Shabbat services, met Rabbi Buchen, our President Marty Burnette, or any member of our welcoming congregation, we’re sure that you will want to join us again and again.

Mission Statement:  MAY THE DOOR of this synagogue be wide enough to receive all who hunger for love, all who are lonely for friendship.  May it welcome all who have cares to unburden, thanks to express, hopes to nurture.  May the door of this synagogue be narrow enough to shut out pettiness and pride, envy and enmity.  May its threshold be no stumbling block to young or straying feet.  May it be too high to admit complacency, selfishness and harshness.  May this synagogue be, for all who enter, the doorway to a richer and more meaningful life.
